Tucked into a small hillside coastal community just east of the 5 in Encinitas, the Enclave Residence unfolds as a series of garden rooms carefully woven around a tight site. For a family of five with three energetic boys, the goal was to maximize every inch—transforming the back and side yards into flexible spaces for play, sports, and create ample space for the family’s love of hosting.
Strategic grading and retaining walls were used to open up the hillside, expanding the flat, usable areas and creating terraces that layer the garden experience.
The result is a landscape that feels both expansive and personal—a true, elegant retreat where this family can host, play, and build memories for years to come.
